ClaimScout matches you to open class action settlements, finds the proof in your own email, and watches your inbox, Spam included, for payout emails before they expire. It runs on your own PC with an Android app. No subscription, ever.
Settlements don't always pay you directly. Many send a virtual prepaid card or a "choose your payment" link by email, and those expire. They often land in Spam. Subscription apps help you file, then leave you to notice the payout yourself.
ClaimScout was built after exactly that: a settlement paid out as a virtual card, the email sat unnoticed, and by the time it was opened the card was worth $0. So ClaimScout doesn't stop at filing. It keeps watching until you're paid.
For example, a $38.50 card with 38 days left to redeem. You get a high-priority alert, not a surprise later.
PayPal, Venmo or card. ClaimScout tells you before the link expires.
Deficiency notices are flagged with their reply-by date, so a claim isn't denied for a missing answer.
"Claim your share!" promos, debt collectors and wallet emails don't set off false alarms.
From finding settlements to getting the money, on hardware you already own.
ClaimScout turns the open settlements into simple "have you used this?" questions, with company logos. Your answers build your profile once, and every new settlement is matched to it automatically.
Reads the public lists from Top Class Actions, ClassAction.org and OpenClassActions every 6 hours and merges duplicates, so each settlement appears once with its payout, deadline and official claim link.
Every card says whether you need proof of purchase. Many settlements need none: file with just the form.
Need a receipt? The phone searches your Gmail or Outlook, read-only, for emails from that company, and pulls out the order number, date and amount.
Every 4 hours it checks your inboxes, Spam included, for virtual cards, payment links, checks and requests for more information, then alerts you before they expire.
Mark a claim as filed with its claim number and notes. It moves to My claims, and you can update it to approved, paid or denied.
On home Wi-Fi it just works. Add free Tailscale and the app reaches your PC from anywhere, no port forwarding.
Off by default. Turn it on with a model on your own PC (Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp) or free OpenRouter models for smarter matching and proof reading.

Your PC reads the public settlement lists every 6 hours: eligibility, proof, payout, deadline, official claim link.
Your questionnaire answers decide which settlements fit you. New ones get a quick question.
Tap File claim to open the official settlement site and submit it yourself. ClaimScout never files for you: claims are sworn statements.
The payout watcher checks your email and Spam and alerts you when money or a request arrives.
The installer gets everything ClaimScout needs (even Python), starts it in the background, and ends with two QR codes: one to download the app, one to pair it.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/TheWiderLensInitiative/claimscout/main/install.sh | bashAndroid 9 or newer. Download the APK from GitHub Releases (or scan the installer's first QR code), allow the install, then tap Scan pairing QR code.
Download the APKRun claimscout doctor. It checks the server, network, firewall and Tailscale and tells you what to fix in plain words. claimscout pair shows the pairing code again.
ClaimScout has no company servers. It's your PC talking to your phone. Read exactly what goes where β
Your profile, matches and claims live in one folder on your PC. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Email passwords and tokens never leave your phone; they're sealed with an Android Keystore key. Only matching emails, trimmed, go to your PC.
The phone talks to your PC over HTTPS pinned to your PC's own certificate, so nothing in between can listen in or pretend to be it.
The app, the server and the installer are open source on GitHub under Apache 2.0.
Yes. It's free and open source under the Apache 2.0 license: no subscription, no account, no paid features and no paid data APIs. The only thing that could ever cost money is an AI model you choose to pay for, and AI is optional (free local and free OpenRouter models work).
No, on purpose. A settlement claim is a sworn statement, usually "under penalty of perjury", so only you can say you qualify. ClaimScout opens the official claim form and has your proof and order numbers ready to copy. Filing takes a minute or two.
Settlements pay you directly, by the method you pick on the claim form or in a later "choose your payment" email: PayPal, Venmo, a virtual prepaid card, direct deposit or a check. ClaimScout never touches your money. Its job is to make sure you see those payment emails in time.
Email is read-only and searched from your phone, never from a server. Gmail uses an app password you can revoke anytime; Outlook uses Microsoft's own sign-in. Only emails that match a settlement are sent, trimmed, to your own PC. Your password never leaves the phone.
Gmail (with an app password) and Outlook, Hotmail and Microsoft 365. You can connect more than one account.
For the 6-hour settlement check and the 4-hour payout check, yes. ClaimScout is light (a small Python server), so an always-on desktop, laptop or mini PC is plenty. If the PC is off, the app catches up when it's back.
Yes. Install the free Tailscale app on your PC and phone. The pairing code includes the Tailscale address, and the app switches between home Wi-Fi and Tailscale automatically.
Not yet. ClaimScout is Android only for now (Android 9+).
The public listings on Top Class Actions, ClassAction.org and OpenClassActions, plus any community lists you add. Each listing links back to its source and the official settlement site. Always read the official notice before filing.
